Terms of Service

Draft — not yet finalized

Placeholder notice: this is a boilerplate draft standing in until Offmat's actual Terms of Service — provided by the Offmat team's own legal counsel — replaces it. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Don't treat it as final, and swap it out before it needs to hold up to anything real.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Offmat (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

Offmat is for people 18 years of age or older. By using the Service you confirm you meet that requirement. During the beta period, access is invite-code gated — you also need a valid invite code from Offmat to create an account.

3. Your Account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for anything that happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think your account's been compromised.

4. What Offmat Is

"This is not a dating app. It's a hyper-local, niche community — for the practice, and the people on it with you."

Offmat is a community and personal-practice platform for yogis — practice tracking, journaling, and ways to find and connect with other practitioners nearby. It is not a general-purpose social network or dating service, and using it primarily as either is against the spirit of the community.

5. Acceptable Use

Don't use Offmat to:

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, at our discretion.

6. Your Content

You own what you post (photos, bio, journal entries, messages, Circle posts). By posting it, you give Offmat a license to store, display, and transmit it as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your profile to other users, or displaying a Circle post to that Circle's members. We don't sell your content.

7. Appreciation Badges

"Appreciation badges are nods of gratitude to other yogis, nothing more. Offmat does not rank users by number of badges received."

Badges are a way to acknowledge another user's presence in the community. They carry no monetary value, cannot be purchased, sold, or redeemed for anything outside the Service, and do not affect how you're ranked or surfaced to other users.

8. Subscriptions & Payments

Offmat offers Free, Plus, Teacher, and Studio tiers with different features and limits, described in-app. Paid tiers are billed through Stripe. You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.

9. Beta Program

If you're using Offmat during its invite-only beta: features may change, break, or be removed without notice, invite codes are non-transferable, and we may ask for feedback that helps us improve the Service. Beta access doesn't guarantee continued access once the beta ends.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) at our discretion.

11. Disclaimers

Offmat is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular outcome (finding community, meeting people, building a practice) will result from using it. Interactions with other users, teachers, or studios found through Offmat are between you and them — we're not a party to those relationships.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Offmat and its team aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

13. Governing Law

[Placeholder — governing state/jurisdiction to be specified by counsel.]

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll do our best to flag material changes in the app.
